The back story

About The Nusa islands: cliffs, mantas and clear water

Across the Badung Strait from Sanur lie three islands in the regency of Klungkung: Nusa Penida, the largest, with tall cliffs and beaches below them, and Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, joined by a bridge, with mangroves and calmer water.

Getting there

By fast boat from the beach at Sanur.

Nusa Penida

The cliffs above Kelingking beach, Crystal Bay and the manta rays off the coast. Roads are rough: go with a driver.

Fast boats leave Sanur beach several times a day.

Lembongan and Ceningan

Mangroves, snorkelling and the bridge between the two islands.

Our advice: stay a night on Lembongan to see the islands after the day boats leave.
