About Pura Luhur Uluwatu
Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of Bali’s great sea temples, set at the edge of a cliff at the south-west tip of the Bukit. The Kecak, a dance-drama chanted by a circle of men, is performed at sunset in the amphitheatre beside it. Monkeys live in the forest around the temple: keep hold of glasses, hats and phones. Dress modestly, with shoulders and knees covered and a sarong and sash; the inner sanctums are for worshippers only (the provincial guidelines for visitors).
