The night before the Day of Silence

About Ogoh-ogoh: the eve of Nyepi

On the eve of Nyepi, the Day of Silence, each village parades its ogoh-ogoh, huge papier-mâché demons, through the streets to drive out evil spirits. In 2027 Nyepi falls on Monday 8 March, so the parades are on the evening of Sunday 7 March.
